Zeitgeist, the defining spirit or mood of a particular period of history as shown by the ideas and beliefs of the time. It basically means “The Spirit of the Age.” 44 years ago we were sitting around and talking about what to name the gallery, my father said you want to be at the beginning of the alphabet or the end, you don’t want to be stuck in the middle. With my knowledge of numerology we started with Z, the first word I liked was “Zeitgeist” but my father reminded me that no one knew what it meant. The next word was Zenith and that is how we picked the name. Now people actually know the meaning of Zeitgeist! “ Margery Goldberg

For over four decades, Zenith Gallery has been a pillar in the D.C. art community. We attribute our success to our ability to transform with the ever-changing times. We do this by combining our longstanding commitment to inspired, unique artworks with our personalized, high quality customer service. This commitment to celebrating the creative spirit of our artists is the core value at the heart of Zenith Gallery. As Zenith Gallery Owner, and celebrated artist in her own right, Margery Goldberg is fond of saying, “With billions of people on the planet, for someone to come up with an original idea and execute it in an original way is what has kept me in business all these years.”

Zenith Gallery offers much more than merely a white walled art gallery with a few dozen works of art. Instead, you step into a world that is a veritable kaleidoscope of art mediums and genres, with works ranging from abstract expressionistic to natural realism… with pieces that range in size from monumental sculpture to intricately wrought, one-of-a-kind jewelry.

Our artists work in an array of materials, including: wood, clay, pieced metal, found objects and lighting elements, mixed media and mesh, cast glass, acrylic on panel, and more! These are seasoned professionals and shining stars just appearing on the horizon, all who offer creative takes on subject such as classicism; humor; romance; environmental awareness; social unrest; love and gratitude. Whose works are thought-provoking; meditative; quirky; bold, and tempestuous. It’s all here to be seen and experienced in this momentous exhibition.

The scope of this ever-evolving collection, with its intriguing juxtaposition of materials and themes is hallmark of our gallery, and has also helped cement our reputation. Whether you are new to collecting art or a long-time buyer, we are sure to inspire the collector in you. In short, we can confidently say that our collection is unlike anything you have ever seen before!

Many of our artists we have shown since we opened 44 years ago at our first location called Zenith Square, many of our collectors will remember those wonderful days of our art center with 50 artists studios and the gallery. As we find new incredibly talented artists we continue to add to our collection of unique and talented artists.

Please join us for a wonderful celebration of these phenomenal artists.
