Peter Kephart was born and raised in New Jersey, and spent a number of years in sales, marketing, and advertising prior to embarking on a more creative career path. He departed corporate America for a sabbatical in 1990 to study studio arts at Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA. Kephart has lived and worked in numerous towns and cities in the mid-Atlantic region, and now does so in the wooded mountains of West Virginia, where in 2004 he discovered his proprietary Fire painting technique.
